An important cornerstone of Mirka’s practice is her ongoing research. As part of Mirka’s interest in realising new potential and possibilities for ceramics she is constantly seeking new colours, textures and finishes in glazes.
During her MA Mirka undertook over 600 glaze tests in order to broaden the colour pallet for salt glaze. As part of her residency at Salisbury Arts Centre she continues to research glaze technology, the results of which can be seen in a number of publications.
